66% of Mexican 15-year-olds fall short of basic proficiency in Math
Two in three Mexican 15-year-olds do not reach basic proficiency in Math. Almost half, 47%, do not understand what they read. And the share reaching top performance in Math is practically zero.
Basic proficiency does not mean a perfect score. It means being able to work out a simple proportion in everyday life. That is what the system delivers today to nine in ten children in the country. And it is the real alternative every private school competes against.
If your school had these numbers, how many families would stay?
