65 in 100 public schools have no computers or internet
In Mexico, 65 in 100 public schools operate without computers or without internet. 9,034 basic-education campuses have no drinking water. 5,112 have no electricity. 89,000 have no sewage connection.
Between 2013 and 2024 the country spent $451,230 millionMXN on school infrastructure. And since 2019 the national school infrastructure census has not been updated, so no one can officially say what that money turned into. The budget was spent and the meter was switched off.
How does a child learn to code, do research or write an email in a school with no internet?
